Garden Sense

You know that you have NESTING FEVER when you have the itch to make things clean and beautiful to your backyard.  There is a certain kinda of sanity to be found in a garden.  Someday I hope to the have most beautiful secluded backyard, in which to hide away from the world.  One day I'll ask my mother-in-law to help me create this, but for now the views of the surrounding neighborhood rooftops will simply have to do.

I saw this chair on Craigslist, not really knowing exactly what it looked like or what I was going to do with it. After staring at it for a few days I thought it would be really cute to paint an anchor on the back, buuuuuut figured that wasn't really practical unless I had a client specifically requesting that! Then it hit me... I knew it's sturdy structure would be perfect for a backyard design. A garden chair.

TIPS For preparing furniture for the outdoors

Make sure the piece is fully cured (usually about 2-3 weeks), rain and heavy pots will scratch up that paint job in no time. If you want you can add a topcoat of sealer, unless you want your piece to get all outdoorsy.

Here are a few more outdoor numbers I found inspiring.  It is funny how good weathered day can remind me to be grateful for the simple things in life, setting my priorities straight once again.
