Garland Greatness & Birthday Printable

My daughter is one year older, her birthday was bitter sweet as always.  Throughout her birthday week, in-between my late night study sessions of nursing interventions and overconsumption of energy drinks, I found myself in desperate need of a distraction from all the medical terminology flooding my mind.  I began frisking the internet as if it had something to hide and I had no time for it's charades.  What I found were a few creative ideas for making garlands to simply fancify any abode.

After my discovery of all of the garland glamour, my own attempt seemed a bit understated.  But there is only so much one girl can learn.  So I will leave the garland making to the professionals, such as...

Steffen from 3GIRLSandagoat.  Moms it's okay to just buy what you want sometimes, instead of deciding to sew all the dresses, craft all the decoration and bake all the cakes, I mean really am I ever going to learn how to use fondant... probably not.  Steffen has a wonderfull Etsy shop with loads of cute creations waiting to be enjoyed.  And for the record I in NO WAY discourage DIYers, this is the very soul of our blog.  But I myself find that sometimes I don't need to do it all... just most of it!
In fact here is tutorial by Laurie at Hambly Screen Prints, for those brave individuals daring to wonder into the world of paper.
This next banner and photo are by Rebecca at Simple As That Blog.  Oh my goodness is she not absolutely beautiful?  Try not to get lost in her fabulous photos when you visit her blog.
I found Rebecca's blog via Discover Paper.  The mother of all paper project sites.
This yellow bow garland is from Kimmie at Sugar and Dots.  She used washi tape to decorate and design her mantel.  Whoa girl, I love it!  The garland of yellow bows and books stacked in the fireplace are just so pleasing to my own sense of design.

Thank you for indulging with me.  I hope you too can see the power of paper.
