How is your Christmas countdown going? With so few days left until Christmas it is hard to not feel so scattered. I said to my grandmother the other day... " I spend so much time preparing to have fun, i.e. cleaning, decorating, trying recipes and making presents, that when it's time to actually party, I would rather just take a nap!" She said she had a similar feeling. So I guess me and granny will be napping this year while everyone else opens presents and drinks eggnog. I hope I'm not the only whose Christmas wish is a nap.
These felt slippers are a revision of Martha Stewart's original felt slippers. I love home made Christmas decorations. My tree is usually filled with strands of popcorn and wooden stars. Although I am only 25 I decorate as if I am 85. Old fashion Christmases melt my heart. So these felt slippers are right up my alley. They are simple to make and can be hung any ol' place.
TO DO:
THEN...
2. Fold heal closed, SEW from the top of the heal down stopping a 1/2 inch from the bottom of the heal.
3. Make a small horizontal cut at the base of the heal as shown below.
4. Cut a 2 inch piece of ribbon and fold in half. Slip the ribbon into the cut portion of the heal with the ends of the ribbon pointing out.
5. Hot glue the ribbon ends and "heal flap" to the back of the slipper.
6. Turn inside out.
7. Fold and iron the cuff around the ankle.
Lots of love to all of you. Don't forget to stop and enjoy the holidays, I know I do.
