The Glitter Academy

Ashley says she is not moving back to AZ, I'm still not convinced. This weekend I attended a blogger/ craft event called The Glitter Academy.  I literally felt like I was walking around with only one shoe on because my sweet Ashley was no where to be found.  This made things a bit inconvenient considering Ashley is the social bug out of the two of us.  When people really get to know me they will find that I am a bit ruff around the edges.  I sometimes swear like a sailor, I ditch church as often as possible, I tell my husband, "maybe you should drop a couple pounds", I open plastic wrappers with my teeth and  I sometimes hide from my daughter, so that I can write an email or study, which I think should be considered a talent.  Try reading up on neurological disorders in a dark, cramped closet that smells like a foot.  It's not easy to focus in tight spaces, nor is it easy to hide from my four year old when my dog in barking at the closet door basically telling her, "look in there you dummy."  I really feel bad for Harry Potter having to live in a broom closet for all those years.
Also these are only the quarks of mine I am willing to actually put in writing.  So if you think these "issues" are weak cheese, come to my house and we will have a heart to heart about uncontrollable personality hazards.
Anyways, my point was... Ashley is the perfect match for me, she is sweet and soft-spoken.  Just picture Wendy in Peter Pan.  Ashley always fills in the gaps for me and now she is gone, like a box of chocolates during an episode of "The Bachelor".
A bit of background...
The Glitter Academy is an event hosted by local bloggers for local crafters.  This weekend The Glitter Academy hosted an amazing event at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Chandler, AZ.  The attendees got to make a piece of subway art courtesy of Poppy Seed Projects.  There was of course, an amazing dessert table and giveaway items for those brave enough to play a little round of Minute To Win It.
Little Yellow Barn was lucky enough to supply a few fancy Halloween frames to some spunky winners at the event.

Find the video tutorial for the GIANT ROSE BUDS HERE and the FANCY FRAMES HERE.

Okay now onto the best part of the event.  Who was there! I got to meet
Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane, I wish we were triplets.
Lindsey from Better After, seriously girl after my own heart.
and so many other amazing, creative, inspiring, humble and sweet lady bloggers.
I love that although I am a stranger to most of these ladies we are connected through our desire to create beauty in the space that surrounds us.

Kelli and Kristi
Do we look alike?  I think we look alike.

 Katie and Kim

Seriously my cheeks were so sore from all the laughing I did.  Thank you Glitter Girlz that was super fun!

  2. Thanks so much. They are from a place in Ohio, my sister brought them to AZ for me. You have to order a whole bunch I believe, they don't sell them individually. This was like 4 years ago I got them, I'll see if I can find out the name of the company for ya.
