Hoppy Easter Sign

Made this sign the other day....

Get it? "Hoppy" like an Easter Bunny :)

Sorry for the lame-o how-to but I totally forgot to take many pictures, so here it goes:

HOW TO:

1. Measure and cut both boards to size. If you don't own anything that cuts stuff, Lowe's and Home depot both offer cutting services. I think you can get something like 4 cuts for free.... but let's be honest, do your make-up a little pretty that day and you can probably talk them into triple that ;)
2. Stain both pieces (I used Minwax Dark Walnut). Wait for it to dry. Prime main piece (yellow board). Wait for it to dry. Paint. Wait for it to dry.
 3. Heavily distress using sand paper- or pretty much anything that can beat it up.
4. Print off "Hoppy Easter" from computer and use carbon paper (ya know the stuff that is on the back of hand written receipts- that's what carbon paper is, you can find it at Hobby Lobby or office supply stores... if we haven't talked about carbon paper enough! ;) )  to trace the lines. Click HERE for a better tutorial.
5. Paint letters. Wait for them to dry.
6. Distress letters using sand paper.
7. Rub a little stain over letters if necessary.
8. Nail top piece to bottom piece.

Oh, and the flower... my lovely mother sent me a few of those, aren't they cute!? You can find them HERE. My lovely mother ALSO sent me the adorable shelf in the picture. She made it, sent it to me, and I stained and dry brushed it to finish. Stay tuned for that tutorial!
